Safety and Confidence
- As an experienced nurse, I have extensive experience in maintaining a safe, clean and stress-free environment.
- I am an expert in the use of PPE and maintaining sterility.
- I begin with an ear evaluation to determine what piercing and placement works best for you.
- I offer lobe, upper lobe, and helix/cartilage ear piercings and nasal piercings
- I have numbing cream when requested to take the edge off. The "buzzy" is also available as a pain reducer.
- I leave you with aftercare instructions and you can contact me if you need anything post piercing!
- I pierce with pre-sterilized 14k gold, titanium, gold-plated or stainless steel earrings. Nickel-free. My piercing jewelry have safety backs and long posts to ensure sufficient air flow and optimal healing.
Earrings come in sterile packaging and have safety backs to protect delicate heads.
Earrings are provided and included in the cost below. A selection will be brought to the appointment. In advance, options can be seen on Upper Lobe FB and Insta pages. Selections include 14 karat yellow, white and rose gold, titanium, 24 karat gold plated and medical grade surgical steel. Supply chain issues due to Covid could affect available inventory.

All persons being pierced will need parental consent and a signed consent form prior to the event.
Aftercare
Aftercare Information
If you run out of the provided or are instructed to use an additional cleanser, use sterile wound care saline spray (see Recommendation page for link to product) or hypochlorous acid after-piercing spray ( link to product). Both can be sprayed directly on the piercing or applied to a q-tip or non-woven gauze and applied to the piercing. The application is designed to clean or wash away debris or bacteria that may have collected on the jewelry and/or piercing area. You do not need to rinse away these solutions.
- Do not touch your piercing except when you are cleaning it. Wash hands prior to touching.
- Do not mix your own salt solution.
- Do not sleep with wet hair. Warm and wet is a good breeding ground for bacteria which can cause infection.
- Avoid nicotine as it is a vasoconstrictor. The chemicals in cigarettes and e-cigs/vape pens are caustic and will delay healing, increase swelling and risk of infection.
- Regularly clean phones, headphones, glasses, helmets and other things that go on or around the ears.
- Avoid beauty products and personal care products that go on or around the piercing.
- Make sure your bedding is clean.
- Do not use anti-bacterial soaps, alcohol, peroxide or similar chemicals unless directed to by a physician.
- Be cautious when washing or styling your hair, when putting on or removing clothing and refrain from sleeping on a fresh piercing.
- Take care when washing or drying your face, nasal piercings are easily pulled.
- Use a travel pillow to suspend ear above bedding while you sleep.
- Wear a clean mask to avoid introducing bacteria to a nasal piercing or the back of a fresh ear piercing by a soiled ear loop.
- If you have a cold or allergies, be gentle blowing your nose.
- Wear proper size, gauge, style and don't rush the change.
***Use Hypochlorous acid spray 'HOCl' (see product recommendations page). Hypochlorous acid is a naturally occurring chemical released by neutrophils to kill microorganisms and neutralize toxins released from pathogens and inflammatory mediators. It is fully capable of inactivating all groups of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, yeast, and fungi. (1)
